Ham and Cheese Sliders

I know you are thinking that I am crazy, posting a recipe for a ham and cheese sandwich, but I am not.  Hear me out on this one.  This is by no means a cold, boring, ham and cheese sandwich.  This is ham and cheese to the next level.  We are talking about a warmed mini sandwich drizzled with a buttery rich sauce and topped with poppy seeds for the ultimate cute factor.
Next time you are planning a party and want something easy and delicious to make I strongly suggest giving these sliders a try.  Football game, birthday party,  or even a quick lunch, these sliders won’t disappoint.

Ham and Cheese Sliders

For the sandwiches
24 mini sandwich rolls (slider rolls)
48 slices (1 1/4 pounds) thinly sliced honey ham
24 small slices Swiss cheese

For the sauce

1½ tablespoon yellow mustard
1 stick butter, melted
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon worcestershire sauce
Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Preheat the oven to 350˚ F.  Split the slider rolls and spread the insides lightly with mayonnaise.  Fold two slices of ham, one piece at a time, to fit on top of the bottom bun and top with a slice of Swiss cheese.  Replace the top bun to assemble the sandwiches.  Place the sandwiches closely together on a baking sheet.

To make the sauce, combine all ingredients except the poppy seeds in a small bowl and whisk to combine.  Drizzle the sauce over the tops of the slider buns.  Sprinkle with poppy seeds.  Cover with foil and bake 10 minutes, until the
cheese is melted.  Remove the foil and bake 2 minutes longer.  Serve warm.
